The staff was very welcoming. The Pine Hut Cabin was clean and well appointed-really cozy! The meals were awesome-all homemade and really delicious! The Zazen Meditation was enriching and deepened my awareness. Nearby there were a variety of hiking trails to enjoy the forest. The stillness was just what I needed and I really enjoyed myself. It was hard to leave!

Warm and welcoming residents. Delicious food. Good accommodations. Deep peace. We stayed for four nights and would have extended our stay. I would recommend giving a try to the zazen sessions of silent meditation morning and evening. They were meaningful and grounding for me. We also hiked in the area and spent a fair amount of time reading on big, comfortable couches.

On all levels my time there was one that I will value for the rest of my life. I went with very little knowledge of this practice and way of life. Everyone was very patient, kind understanding and informative. They allowed those of us visiting to to have the whole experience. It is indeed a very sacred space to connect and BE.

Looking for peace, quiet, great vegetarian meals, easy to vigorous hiking, meditation when (and if) you want? Look no farther than the Crestone Mountain Zen Center, an incredible place to get-away-from-it all with a night sky that sports the brightest, biggest Big Dipper ever, surrounded by the Milky Way. I spent five nights in the Guest House, and it was perfect! This tidy room included an electric tea kettle, teas, a desk, a bed (and a double in the loft that I didn’t use) and towels. I did find it handy to bring a yoga mat…..the staff is friendly and committed to the center. My last day was spent off-campus, a 10-mile hike to Willow Lake (see picture) which was like a culmination of all I learned and felt at the Center. Kudos to Lisa, Deborah, Bryant, Blaine and the rest that make this such a relaxing, meditative, restorative experience!

Crestone Mountain Zen Center is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the quiet. The vegetarian cuisine is excellent! Our room was clean, simple and pleasant. We're definitely planning to return!
